A highly regarded vacation destination, the Florida Keys has a lot
to offer visitors in the way of tropical resort lodging. Beachfront
views, warm tropical waters and reefs, all this and more combine to
make the Keys a great vacation destination. There are a great many
resort destinations in the Keys and we have divided them up into
areas for you. The busy season is mid Feb thru Easter, you will need
to confirm the reservations in advance for these dates. The Florida
Keys resort scene is all but under-utilized in the summer months,
great fishing and diving and other recreational opportunities and
less expensive rates can make the Keys a real bargain.

area,
the link bar above has some alternative accommodations.
These
upper Keys resorts range from large national chain vacation
destination resorts to small family owned resorts. Although there is
plenty more to do, some of the world's finest back-country fishing
can be found here as well as great recreational diving. As you will
find anywhere in the Florida Keys - great dining, they take dining
and drinking pretty serious here. Look for the sunset cocktail at an
oceanside resort or restaurant for a memorable evening.
Marathon prides itself on being a "family" resort destination -
exactly what the means, we have no idea. The Marathon area is
central to the Keys and you can go to the upper Keys or lower Keys
in an hour. A great local park system and attractions such as Pigeon
Key, Crane Point and the Dolphin Research Center can be found here.
There are a lot of small
scattered islands between Marathon and Key West with resorts, mostly
small with boat docks, restaurants and beaches. Key West is the
destination of choice with the action in the Old Town area and
numerous terrific B and B's, inns and guesthouses. The seasonal
crowds make for congestion but it is a remarkable city, still has
the charm and ambiance of old. |
