Marathon Florida Resorts

Marathon Florida resorts are primarily a family vacation destination. The area is in the heart of the Keys and you can go to one end of the Keys or the other in only a 1 hour drive from Marathon - This central location gives you easy drives from your Marathon resort to all of the Keys attractions. The city has recently upgraded the community parks and beaches - with great facilities and wonderful for the little ones.
  Not as "busy" as Key West, things tend to be a bit more laid back, perhaps even a little less expensive. Look for some nice small "mom and pop" family run resorts all thru the area, and new luxury hotel resorts  with all the amenities are now under construction.

   Most of these Marathon resorts have "beaches" which consist of built-up sand areas. We don't get the big sandy typical Florida beaches you expect simply because of the reef and resultant wave action. Don't despair, they are still pretty nice and some great sunsets can be enjoyed here like nowhere else.
